Professional Executive Profile

I have spent much of my professional life working with people, businesses, and organizations in the hospitality industry.

My journey began on the operational floor, long before I entered boardrooms, led management teams, or advised business owners.

That experience taught me something that continues to shape my professional philosophy: a successful hotel is not defined simply by its facilities, brand name, or market positioning. It is defined by the quality of its leadership, the strength of its people, the consistency of its operations, and its ability to create sustainable business value.

Over the decades, my career has developed across hotel and resort management, pre-opening operations, sales and marketing, brand repositioning, commercial strategy, organizational development, and executive leadership.

I have worked with independent hospitality businesses, boutique resorts, and internationally affiliated hotel operations, gaining practical exposure to different markets, ownership expectations, business challenges, and organizational cultures.

My most recent full-time executive assignment was as General Manager of Java Lotus Hotel Jember, Indonesia, from November 2021 to October 2025, where I led hotel operations, commercial performance, organizational development, and business repositioning during a challenging period of post-pandemic recovery.

Today, I continue my professional journey through hospitality advisory, consulting, executive mentoring, leadership development, and selected hotel management opportunities.

My objective is straightforward: to help hospitality businesses make better decisions, develop stronger teams, improve operational discipline, and build commercially sustainable organizations.

What I Bring to the Table

1. Hotel Owner's Advisory & Business Performance

Hotel ownership and hotel management do not always view business performance from the same perspective.

Owners are concerned with investment returns, operating costs, asset sustainability, and long-term value. Management teams must translate those expectations into daily operational decisions.

I help bridge that gap.

My advisory approach focuses on operational effectiveness, management accountability, commercial performance, guest experience, organizational alignment, and practical business improvement.

Areas of engagement include:

  • Hotel business and operational assessments
  • Owner's representative and independent management advisory
  • Performance reviews and management reporting
  • Revenue and cost-performance evaluation
  • Operational productivity and service consistency
  • Management accountability and departmental alignment
  • Business improvement and 90-day action planning

The objective is not to create more reports. It is to help owners and management teams identify what matters, decide what needs to change, and implement improvements.

2. Hotel Pre-Opening & Operational Readiness

Opening a hotel requires more than completing construction and preparing guestrooms.

It requires a coordinated business operation where people, systems, service standards, commercial strategies, and operational processes are ready to function together.

My pre-opening experience includes assignments involving Alaya Resort Kuta, FashionTV Love F Hotel Bali, Villa Mahapala Sanur, and Sparks Hotel Jakarta.

I support owners and development teams in translating a hospitality concept into an operationally prepared business.

Areas of engagement include:

  • Pre-opening strategy and operational planning
  • Organizational structure and manpower planning
  • Management recruitment and leadership preparation
  • SOP and service-standard development
  • Sales and marketing readiness
  • Operational coordination across departments
  • Opening preparation and business stabilization

My guiding principle is simple:

A hotel should not merely be ready to open. It should be ready to operate.

3. Hotel Repositioning & Business Revitalization

Some hotels do not need a complete transformation. They need a clearer understanding of what has stopped working.

A property may have good facilities but weak market relevance. A capable team may struggle because expectations are unclear. A hotel may generate revenue while failing to achieve the operational efficiency or guest loyalty it deserves.

These situations require more than cosmetic rebranding.

They require a disciplined review of the business, its market position, operating model, people, and commercial direction.

My professional background includes repositioning and operational improvement assignments, including Amnaya Resort Kuta and Java Lotus Hotel Jember.

Areas of engagement include:

  • Business and market-positioning review
  • Guest-experience improvement
  • Service culture revitalization
  • Sales and marketing realignment
  • Leadership and organizational restructuring support
  • Operational performance improvement
  • Brand experience and service consistency

Repositioning is not simply changing how a hotel looks. It is changing how the business competes, operates, and creates value.

4. Commercial Strategy, Sales & Marketing

My professional foundation includes extensive experience in hotel sales, marketing, business development, and commercial leadership.

I have served in corporate and property-level commercial roles, including assignments with Swiss-Belhotel International's Bali Regional Sales Office, Lv8 Resort Hotel Bali, and Rama Hotels & Resorts.

This background allows me to approach hotel management from both operational and commercial perspectives.

I believe that commercial strategy must connect market opportunities with operational capability.

Areas of engagement include:

  • Hotel sales and marketing strategy
  • Market segmentation and business development
  • Revenue opportunities and distribution review
  • Brand positioning and competitive differentiation
  • Commercial team alignment
  • Sales performance and accountability
  • Digital salesmanship and customer relationship development

The ultimate objective is to help commercial teams move beyond activity-driven selling toward more focused, measurable business development.

5. Leadership Development & Executive Mentoring

A hotel's performance is closely connected to the quality of its leadership.

Systems matter. Standards matter. Technology matters.

But people make them work.

Throughout my career, I have worked with management teams, department heads, supervisors, and emerging hospitality leaders.

Today, I translate those experiences into practical leadership development and mentoring programs.

Through NamakuBrandku Academy, I offer learning experiences that connect contemporary management practices with human-centered leadership and the cultural wisdom of n-JAWA-ni.

Key learning areas include:

  • Leadership mindset and professional accountability
  • Ownership versus responsibility
  • Operational execution and performance management
  • Service excellence and guest experience
  • Digital salesmanship and commercial awareness
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Executive communication and professional branding

My approach is not based on motivation alone.

Knowledge must become behavior. Behavior must become performance. Performance must create value.

Local Wisdom. Global Relevance. Practical Excellence.

My Approach to Professional Engagements

I believe that meaningful consulting begins with listening.

Before recommending solutions, I seek to understand the business, the people behind it, the owner's expectations, the market realities, and the challenges affecting performance.

My approach follows five principles.

Listen Before Advising. Understand the actual business problem before proposing a solution.

Diagnose Before Prescribing. Examine the relationship between strategy, people, systems, operations, and commercial performance.

Prioritize What Matters. Focus on improvements that are practical, relevant, and proportionate to the organization's resources.

Work With People, Not Around Them. Sustainable improvement requires management ownership and team participation.

Translate Advice into Action. Recommendations should lead to clear responsibilities, timelines, and measurable progress.

I do not believe that every business challenge requires a complicated framework.

Sometimes the most valuable contribution is helping an organization see its problems clearly and act decisively.

A Personal Philosophy: The Living Brand

I have always believed that a professional reputation cannot be built through declarations alone.

It is earned through decisions, responsibilities, relationships, and the quality of work delivered over time.

That belief became the foundation of my personal philosophy:

Your name is your identity.

Your work is your credibility.

Your character is your reputation.

Your contribution is your legacy.

I call this philosophy NamakuBrandku — The Living Brand.

It reminds me that professional relevance is not determined solely by position, title, or age.

It is sustained by the willingness to keep learning, contributing, and creating value.

I remain committed to doing exactly that.
